Fantastic product
Bobbi Brown gel eye liner is simply "the best" - easy to apply and wears all through the day - no smudging at all. Simple to remove at night. A fabulous product - but then you could expect no less than the best from Bobbi Brown!!!

A real trooper!
I have done the following things in while wearing this eyeliner:
Cried hysterically
Had terrible allergies
Go-Go danced until sweat was pouring down my face and into my eyes
etc, and the entire time, my eyeliner never smudged. Yet, when I go to wash my face, it comes right off! Bobbi Brown must have done some Voo-do on this stuff, because it's amazing!

Dries out in the jar when half used
I read great things about this product, so I bought it and really liked it at first. It went on smooth etc. all the good things in other reviews, but some time close to being half though the contents of the jar it started to dry out and become increasingly difficult to apply. I paid more attention to how tight the lid was on and I never left the lid off except while applying it, so I don't know what caused the dryness. Now, I can't get it to do anything but create black "crumbs". I bought the brush too, so presumably I have the right elements to make it work correctly. I can't say that I am pleased with the product.

I have this in two colors
I have bought in my life time various differnt brands cheap and expensive eye liners either in pencil or liquid. I hated the liquid because it did not seem to want to stay on without flaking off. I like pencil eyeliners, but I absolutely love Bobbi Brown's gel liner in expresso and graphite. The staying power is awesome and the shades compliment my eye color. No smudging either. I bought the brush to go with this and I'm glad that I did it creates a nice clean line.
I also bought Bobbi Brown concealer for my circles, I pat on the corrector from inner to outer corner of my eyes and then use the concealer/powder combo with concealor brush just along inner part of my eye/nose where circles appear darkest.
Concealers are blendable and melt into your skin so you don't get that caked on look like with other concealers that I have bought.
Looks flawless an makes me feel pretty and confident that I don't look tired or aged when I go out.

Great application with the right brush, Lasts all day
When using this, I found that using an angled eye-liner brush from any brand (I have one from an old travel brush kit from the Body Shop) gave me more control with using this product. If you're a skilled eye-liner user, Bobbi Brown has an eye liner brush, which I had trouble with - even with the small brush head and stiff bristles.
Application takes some practice. This cream formula glides onto your lids like butter! A little goes a long way - apply it after your shadow, before your mascara, in short strokes (outside to inside with an angled brush) across your the line of your lids, and go over it again in 1 fast stroke. It's worth trying if you're thinking of switching from using pencil eye liners, or eye liners that are in a pot and include a felt tip wand.
Like other reviewers said, it does NOT smudge and lasts ALL day. I sweat because I walk super fast, and get teary-eyed because of my allergies - and it did not smudge. The look you will achieve is a perfect bold line, which ultimately opens up your eyes.
The colors #4 Violet Ink (which is a slightly metallic dark purple color), and #3 Cobalt Ink (matte navy blue) are flattering for brown eyes.
