Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - good quality
I was looking for a white liner pencil for awhile. The one I used to use was discontinued. I purchased several, both expensive & low-end. The Sephora pencil went on really smooth & easy, the color is great. I was real happy with this one & threw out the others. the only problem seems to be it flakes off a bit during the day, which can feel annoying & require re-applying. All in all, though, I'm pleased!

Rating: 2 out of 5 stars - Smudgy
I thought this would be a good product because it's from Sephora. I LOVE Sephora products. But when I put this on, it was really smudgy, and almost globby. I was disappointed.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - A good little pencil!
I got this pencil (in black) as a gift for Christmas. Of course, I was ecstatic when I saw that it was from Sephora.

So what's to like about it? First, it's cheap. You can go to drugstores and find eye pencils for the same price (if not more) but do they actually work? Which brings me to my second point. I have always had problems applying makeup to my eyelids and waterlines because the color doesn't show as well as it should. Before getting this eyeliner, I tried a ton of drugstore brand pencils and none of them would show as well as I wanted to (some wouldn't even show at all!). So I was happy when I applied this for the first time and the line was dark and bold.

What's not to like? Nothing really. This pencil does what it's supposed to do so no complaints from me. Does it stay on all day? No... but I didn't expect it to. It lasts for a few hours and then I need to reapply. Although I haven't tried the other colors, I do experiment with my black pencil and I have been pleased with the results so far.

[Update 10/29/07: I've had this pencil since last Christmas and I still have a whole lot of pencil left. It still produces a nice, bold, dark line. It's my pencil of choice.]

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Simply Eye-Popping Results
Sephora's slim pencil eyeliner comes in many different colors but gives the same eye popping results! Trust me, you wont be disappointed once you try this stuff. Trying to impress a date? Some simple application of this wonderful stuff will do the trick. It amazed me, I never thought my eyes could really be noticeable. Not only is it a great product, but it stays on too! I was tired of having to re-apply every few hours but this stuff stuck.

Rating: 3 out of 5 stars - Pretty spiffy
I like the color of the pencil i have;; forest green. It has a creamy smooth texture, but i find that it runs a bit. The staying power is mas o menos, and it kinda creases. I like the fact that it has no glitter in it though [ulike urban decay, although i love their stuff i just hate glitter]. I was also kinda of disappointed at the size;; sure it only costs $[...], but it's only 2inches long!

Ted Shelton: "Frankly I felt that BlogOn was a waste of time and money."

I think the BlogOn conference was overproduced. In the name of professionalism the organizing firm turned off potential speakers, oversubscribed sponsors, etc.

I would have liked a debatable topic (aside from *blogging = journalism*. Two people slugging it out. Or a devil's advocate taking challenges from the floor.

I would have liked more hard numbers. Facts. Charts. Diagrams. We have the analytic tools to BS-check them; harder on vague opinions and single-points-of-observation.

I found it disturbing how much money was being commanded (from both attendees and sponsors) for a conference at a university. Maybe it was because it was at Berkeley? Maybe we should have taken over a community college or a Cal State or a DeVry. The facilities costs would have been cheaper at least. I heard an organizer apologize and say the next one would be at a hotel, like that would have been better.

Cost wasn't the whole problem. We're at a stage where early adopters are meeting folks who want to leap the chasm. Huge gaps in knowledge, experience, context, culture, vocabulary. It's the gap.

There are huge ideas to be explored, even in the world of applying blogs to media strategy and the enterprise. And most of the big ideas weren't even on the agenda at BlogOn. Probably because it was catering to those who want to commercialize, fund, and otherwise exploit (excuse me, "get in on") the emerging medium.

Let's fork these conferences so advanced topics on business and technology and culture fit the participants.
